The North of Madagascar is a scarcely populated region with an astonishing variety of landscapes and ecosystems. The highest mountains of Madagascar are found here in the volcanic massif of Tsaratanana. If you are an intrepid traveller, you can climb the highest peak of the island, the Maromokotra which is 2,880 metres high.
The main city along the northwestern coast is Mahajanga, a port city of the Boeny region. Ankarafantsika National Park is approximately a two hours’ drive inland from Mahajanga. It is the biggest dry deciduous forest in Madagascar where you can visit year round and spend a few days spotting endemic wildlife such as the rare Mongoose lemur.
Nosy Be’s archipelago offers a vast playground, with more than 15 virgin islands to discover with some of the best beaches in the Indian Ocean. This is tropical paradise with sugar cane plantations, rum distilleries, ylang-ylang bushes and lounging lemurs. This beautiful island offers some amazing snorkelling and diving opportunities and some primary forests with great wildlife.

 

Nosy Komba (Lemur Island) is a small volcanic island southeast of Nosy Be with golden sandy beaches and coves. The primal forest offers all kind of trees, plants and flowers for the nature lovers. 5000 sacred black lemurs are residents of the island and they are protected from any danger.
Amber Mountain National Park in the North of Madagascar. You will have a guided walk with a local park guide to explore this great biodiversity sanctuary abundant with endemic fauna and flora, luxuriant vegetation, many waterfalls and volcanic lakes which honeycomb the area.

Diego Suarez is named after the two Portuguese explorers who discovered Madagascar. Diego Suarez is also known as Antsiranana and it is situated in the north of Madagascar. It has one of the world’s most beautiful deep-water harbours, complete with a photographic sugarloaf mountain.
Red Tsingy is a miracle of nature in many ways to understand geology and erosion. The Red Tsingy is made of red laterite similar to clay and not of limestone rock like the Tsingy at Ankarana or Bemaraha.
